A review for Judith Grimaldi and Naomi Levin:
Ms. Grimaldi and her team, especially Naomi Levin, offered me so much wise guidance and warm support as I worked to set up Medicaid for my ex-husband and to provide for his care once he was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. As his condition deteriorated, they always found time to respond with a phone call or an email, even during off-hours or weekends. They were remarkable advocates and they made a profound difference during very difficult days. I am so grateful to them.
A review for Joanne Seminara:
I had worked for the City of New York for 25 years and was ready for retirement but frankly knew little or nothing about pension and social security benefits and how to maximize their value or how to invest my modest savings and annuities. Now I had known Ms. Seminara for many years through various community service activities we had participated in and so I personally trusted her; without question I wanted her to be my legal consultant as I phased into my separation from civil service. Ms. Seminara was deliberate, thorough and thoughtful as we reviewed my various assets and subsequent strategies on how to best utilize them as well as creating my first will and testament. What was most helpful was how our meeting left me feeling confident in my future plans and, even more important, how my heirs are now finally included in them. Today Ms. Seminara is there to offer advice and suggestions whenever I need clarification or guidance on matters that impact my financial well-being, all done with a generous dose of humanity and good-will.

My brother and I were most pleased with the outstanding professionalism, expertise and experience that Joanne Seminara, her legal assistant and her firm Grimaldi & Yeung LLP provided us during the most emotional and difficult months of our lives. It was a pleasure to walk into her office, which was most warm and welcoming, creating a comfortable professional atmosphere, as we met to discuss many legal matters that were quite new to us.
Selling our mom’s house, our home for more than fifty years, was both emotionally draining and legally challenging.
Yet, Joanne’s consistent reassurance and communication made all the difference to us as we handled this overwhelming situation.
I certainly appreciated Joanne’s calmness, patience and understanding that went beyond her valuable legal advice and knowledge. I am sure that future clients will also benefit from these positive qualities that are most important during a time that can be quite upsetting and frightening to many people. I related to her kind manner and understanding nature.
I am sure that future clients will also be as pleased and as grateful as we have been.
I would certainly highly recommend Joanne Seminara’s services without any hesitation.
Thank you again.
I wanted to send along a note of thanks for all the support and guidance with my aunt’s guardianship hearing. I know it’s been several months since the hearing and decision.
You and the entire team were such a ray of light during a very stressful and upsetting time period in my life. I don’t know where to start tell you how much I appreciated your support – from the first call to our meeting, the hearing and follow up. Beside the sound and strong legal advice, I was especially touched by the care and compassion you provided me. At every step of the way you and the team were there to support and guide me. I was touched by how much you deeply cared for me, my case and helping my family.
I have never been through anything like this in my life, and you really provided me the comfort and assurance I needed during such a stressful and unsettling time. For that, my family and I are deeply grateful.
Please pass along my heartfelt thanks to the entire team, for being there for us and providing such outstanding legal advice – and more importantly caring for me, my aunt and our family.
Joanne Seminara and her assistant handled legal issues relevant to the passing of our mom. Throughout the process, Joanne displayed a working knowledge of the law as well as an informed view of the expectations and requirements needed to fully represent the estate and home sale. Her services were always well-organized and efficient. The quality of her legal advice and actions on behalf of the estate demonstrated competence, proficiency and a degree of experience that was much appreciated. We both respect and commend Joanne Seminara for her professionalism and her legal representation.
I cannot thank you enough for your advice and your excellent representation of me!
I hope you and your family enjoy the holiday season! Hopefully in the New Year we can discuss ways in which I can set things up for my children to avoid the confusion surrounding my mother’s estate.
To Judith – Grimaldi & Yeung LLP,
Congratulations! I am reading the book you gave me and enjoying every piece of information therein. It’s a fantastic book and it’s being of great help to me.
Thank you so much,
I want to thank you for the excellent work that you do for our family. You are a kind person and a thorough attorney. I admire both qualities.
…I want to thank you for your invaluable help! In addition to your advice & consultation, you were extremely responsive & professional throughout the entire settlement process. Tom & I felt like we had strong partners during a stressful time…
All the best,
I just wanted to thank you for the periodic Elder Law Updates that you send to your clients. They’re quite helpful. Some of the topics are eye-openers, so I print them out so that my children will be well-informed when I’m gone.
Judith Grimaldi was a wonderful Elder Care Attorney
I had a 93 year old grandfather, who did not want to be institutionalized and wanted to live his remaining days at home.
He was constantly falling, getting stitches and was in the emergency room on a regular basis.
Judith was able to expedite the paperwork necessary to get him 24 hour a day care.
Due to her hard work my grandfather was able to live the remaining 3 years of his life with dignity!
Thank you Judith
“When I first came to your law firm, I was anxious and unsure of how I could best help my uncle. At 76 years of age, he is the baby of his three surviving siblings and he has never been married. We are a close Italian family, and my uncle is also my Godfather, so taking care of him was never a question. However, taking care of him so he would be able to stay home close to family and be comfortable, seemed like it would be an impossibility. After all, what did I know about any of this? Several people recommended that I make an appointment with your office but, I was so unsure of how to proceed. After trying to balance things for a year, I realized I needed help. Immediately after our first meeting, I knew we were in good hands.
Judith Grimaldi and her staff have given me and my family so much support during this journey. Despite my many, many questions and concerns, I can honestly say I was never made to feel like a bother, even when your staff had to explain things over to me again a second or third time. Instead, I felt like I had a whole team supporting me throughout this entire process. I never hesitated to call when I had a concern and someone was always there to help me! I felt encouraged about the decisions I was making for my uncle. The staff at Grimaldi and Yeung is a group of professionals who truly care about their clients. I can’t stress that enough! It has impressed me so much that I can’t stop telling friends about my experience with your law firm.
Sometimes we meet people who touch our lives in such a special way and we struggle to find just the right words to convey what is in our hearts. My uncle has always been a timid man filled with fears; especially about how his “golden years” would play out. You and your entire staff have certainly changed that for him. So, along with my deepest thanks for all that you have done to help me through this process, I hope you feel the gratitude and respect I have for what you have done for my uncle.”
With heartfelt thanks,
“You gave so much information in such a clear, warm way, explaining these complex and often anxiety-producing legal and financial decisions. It was a wonderful introduction and guide to what needs to be considered and worked out in a legal form, and I had the feeling that many people came away with new confidence for getting the plans set up.”

“I don’t know what I would have done without guidance and assistance from Grimaldi & Yeung. When my 92-year-old mother, who lives alone, suffered a small stroke, I was in a frenzy. With a combination of lawyers and a social worker on staff, Grimaldi & Yeung walked me through complicated processes and answered the many questions I had. They developed a long-term plan to meet my mother’s needs and gave me peace of mind.”

“Just a little note to say “thanks”. You did a GREAT job today….. and…. You have the patience of a “saint”. We accomplished what needed to do to get all of their paperwork in order, under extremely difficult conditions today. So again, THANKS…. I knew I made the right decision when I selected you for this project.”

“As parents of two adult children — one being a special needs son — we were concerned about the care and future of both. [Grimaldi & Yeung] was knowledgeable in special needs matters and explained things in a way we could understand. They were professional, caring and handled all matters from beginning to end.”
— Mr. & Mrs. C.
“The staff at Grimaldi & Yeung were most helpful and provided us with the best advice regarding Mom and Dad’s affairs. Mom is now on Medicaid and receiving the care she needs.”

“A sincere thank you for guiding me gently through the years of trusteeship responsibilities. Now all is closed. Blessings on you all as you advocate for “the least of these,” our elders.”

“You have helped us immeasurably in fulfilling our mission to provide high-quality legal services to American forces being deployed overseas. As part of our military duties, we are called upon month after month to execute wills and related documents for soldiers, sailors and airmen about to depart for the war zone. By sharing with us your incomparable professional expertise in this area of law, you have greatly benefited the men and women of our armed forces who have a critical need for this assistance. We are all better soldiers thanks to your help.”

“You have a way of making me feel like I’m doing something right with my mom’s financial affairs—even through I’ve made some mistakes along the way. I always leave you office believe that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
I truly appreciate all you’re doing for mom & me.”
“On behalf of all my staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your firm for all the support you have given us in the past couple of years. The residents at Shore Hill have certainly benefited from the seminars your staff presented and have found the literature extremely helpful. Your assistance to the Caregivers group has enabled them to take steps to put their affairs of a loved one in order and most of all helped them to be more at ease and stress free.
We are truly grateful to have such a giving, caring and compassionate person in our community. You are always so willing to be of service in whichever way you can help. Bay Ridge is certainly proud of your firm and your contributions to the community.
Judi, thanks again and know it is always a pleasure working with you.
My heartfelt thanks.”

It is not very often people find time to express gratitude but I thought you will be happy to know that you’ve helped my family a great deal with the Irrevocable Trust.
My Dad came to US in 1973 with nothing in his pocket. He worked six days a week in the garment factory till retirement to make a living to support his 3 kids. My mom also worked in the garment factory to support us. I myself worked on summer in the garment factory. It was laborious work. We lived in Chinatown at that time.
Chinatown in the 1970 was an unsafe place to go to school. There were local gangs in the school and the streets. To protect the family, my parents scrap every penny they have to buy a house in Queens. The bank will not lend mortgage to them so they have to put down 40 % down payment. I do not know how they can save that type of money with 3 kids but they managed. We never had new clothes and my parents used to make all our clothes for us. We know how hard they worked, Therefore, we never compliant and we never care. I am sadden by all the sacrifice my Dad and Mom made.
The house was their pride and joy. They have this little piece of garden in the back. They started planting some flower, then vegetables. They loved the quiet neighborhood and their neighbors. They were poor but they have their house. They lived there in their retirement year because of the garden. My Dad can never give up his garden. May he rest in peace.
They lived there over 30 years. Thru your work, you were able to help them save the only pride possession they have, THEIR HOUSE. I hope my mom can lived out her years with the money that they saved as their house. I just wanted you to know that you are doing great work to help the elder. This is why I am telling their story. Thank you,
Enclosed are the requested bank statements from Aunt Margaret’s Citibank account from the time of her death to the present.
Once again, I (we) would like to thank you not only for your professionalism, but for your evident care and concern in very difficult time.
So, as one book ends, another opens, just as challenging and its good to know that you and your team will be at my side.
Please thank Dawn Ellwood as well for all of her efforts.
Thank you so very much for all your help! I can’t express to you how wonderful it has been working with you and Judith during this journey. I never would have made it without you and you helped to ease the stress of taking care of my mother in her declining years. Your advice and guidance has been so invaluable to me and I will be forever grateful to you. It has truly been my pleasure to work with you and I wish you all the best!
My sincerest thanks!!!
