David Goldfarb is “Of Counsel” to the Grimaldi Yeung Law Group.  He was formerly the managing partner of the esteemed law firm of Goldfarb Abrandt & Salzman LLP.  He concentrates in the areas of health law, elder law, trusts and estates, and the rights of the elderly and disabled. David has written and spoken extensively on Elder Law, Medicare, Medicaid, and the use of trusts in health care planning. He was the co-author of the legal treatise New York Elder Law (Lexis-Matthew Bender, 1999-2019). David maintains the SeniorLaw website at www.seniorlaw.com, which he provides as a service to Elder Law practitioners and the aging community.

Mr. Goldfarb was formerly an attorney and supervisor for the Civil Division of the Legal Aid Society in New York City. 

David Goldfarb has been named a New York “Super Lawyer” since 2008. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Elder Law since 2010 and named Best Lawyers’ 2014 and 2018 New York City Elder Law “Lawyer of the Year.” He has achieved the highest rating (AV) in Martindale-Hubbell. David was given the Elder Law Attorney of the Year award in 2011 by the Evelyn Frank Legal Resource Program.

Mr. Goldfarb is also active in the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is a former Chair of the Elder Law and Special Need Section of the New York State Bar Association.  He has written extensively on civic and legal issues including two op-eds in the New York Times. 

As a member of the New York State Bar Association Task Force on the Power of Attorney, David Goldfarb helped draft the comprehensive changes to the New York Power of Attorney that were signed into law in 2020 and 2021 and became effective June 2021. He has extensively trained on the use of the new Power of Attorney form and is available to lecture on this and other legal issues related to Elder Law and Medicaid Planning.

Mr. Goldfarb received his BA from the University of Wisconsin and his JD from New York University School of Law.
