Serving Clients in New York City and the New York Metropolitan Area
So Young is an important member of our legal team, assisting in our Estate Administration and Medicaid planning departments. So Young received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in May 2005 and her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2001. Upon graduating from law school, she worked for the NYC‘s Administration for Children’s Services as an Agency Attorney, representing children and families in Family Court, in child welfare proceedings. At ACS, she learned invaluable legal skills needed to timely manage over her 100+ cases including trial preparation, actively working with social workers, opposing attorneys, and court personnel to achieve positive outcome for the dependent children. So Young took a hiatus from practicing law to raise her two children and also help care for her parents and extended family.
Upon her return to the legal field, she worked as a legal assistant for the Law Office of Danielle Leventhal Elias and enjoyed learning about a new field of law, which includes elder law, estate planning, estate and trust administration and Medicaid planning.
So Young joined the firm’s legal team in 2021 and divides her time between our Brooklyn and Staten Island clients as she is a resident of Staten Island. She is pleased to be now working as a part-time attorney and is anxious to expand her practice to all areas of the firm’s practice.
When not practicing law, So Young is active in the educational and cultural life of her children, family and community and enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and rescue dog.
